What is the ruling on a girl marrying her mother's maternal cousin?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is permissible to marry one's paternal uncle's son, maternal uncle's son, mother's maternal uncle's son, or father's maternal uncle's son, based on the Almighty's saying: "And daughters of your paternal uncles and daughters of your paternal aunts and daughters of your maternal uncles and daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you" (Al-Ahzab: 50). What Allah has made lawful for His Prophet is lawful for his Ummah, unless there is evidence to indicate its exclusivity to him.
