What is the difference between fitra (innate disposition) and instinct?

Instinct appears in contexts as part of fitra (innate disposition). Fitra differs from instinct in meanings such as Sunnah (Prophetic tradition) and Islam, but agrees with it in the meaning of the inherent disposition upon which people were created. Fitra is the innate disposition capable of accepting the true religion, and it is the power God embedded in humans to know faith. It is the characteristic with which every existing being is endowed at the beginning of its creation. As for instinct, it is an innate faculty from which inherent traits and inherited behavior, rather than acquired, originate. It is what drives a person to act without thought, and it encompasses nature, inclination, and disposition, whether good or evil. The word "fitra" is mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah, whereas the word "instinct" is not, except in some weak and denounced hadiths.
