Is weekly communication with family and relatives via email, which includes exchanging news, updates, and thoughts, and offering cooperation on various occasions, considered a form of maintaining the ties of kinship (silat al-rahim)?

"Kinship (Arham) refers to relatives by lineage. Maintaining kinship ties involves being good to them in a way that suits both the one who connects and the one who is connected. This may be through financial aid, service, visits, or greetings. Islamic law has not specified the exact manner or duration of maintaining these ties; rather, it is left to custom. So, what people consider as maintaining ties is indeed so, and what they consider as severing ties is also so. Phone calls and modern messaging fall under maintaining kinship ties, in addition to financial support for the needy, visiting the sick, visiting those of great kinship status, or gathering on occasions. It is commendable for messages to include religious advice and admonition."
