Does the strife that occurred among the Companions after the death of the Prophet constitute a reason for doubting the religion and abandoning adherence to it?

Depicting the era of the Companions as a time of discord and hatred is a false claim. The Quran and Sunnah bear witness to their virtue, goodness, and justice, for they are "the best nation produced for mankind" and "the best generations." Slandering the Companions is slandering the transmitters of the religion. Therefore, a Muslim must have a good opinion of them and refrain from delving into the discords that occurred between them.
