What is the ruling on blood that exits outside of the usual days of the menstrual cycle, and is prayer and fasting obligatory during its flow?

Blood exceeding the customary period is a vein bleeding, and is not counted as menstruation. A woman who knows her customary period refrains from prayer, fasting, touching the Qur’an, and intercourse in the vagina during the days of her period. If she purifies herself, her customary days cease, and she performs ghusl, then she is considered among the pure, and whatever blood, yellowness, or turbidity she sees after that is istihaadah (non-menstrual bleeding) which does not prevent her from prayer and the like.
