Is it permissible to believe that Allah brings together spouses who are compatible in faith, based on His saying: "Bad women are for bad men, and bad men are for bad women. And good women are for good men, and good men are for good women" and His saying: "They are varying ranks in the sight of Allah," and based on that, should one not reject an irreligious person if the girl herself is also irreligious?

There are two interpretations among exegetes regarding the meaning of the verse "Evil women are for evil men..." (and vice versa): either it refers to words/deeds, or to women. According to the interpretation that it refers to women, the meaning is that, generally, the evil person inclines towards the evil woman, and the good person towards the good woman. This is the original principle that aligns with human nature. Exceptions may occur, where a good woman is afflicted with an evil man, or vice versa, as happened with the wives of Noah and Lot, and the wife of Pharaoh. Nevertheless, if a man of good religion and character proposes to a girl, it is recommended to marry him, in accordance with the Hadith: "If someone whose religion and character you are pleased with comes to you, then marry him off." The girl should perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance), and if she feels at ease, she should proceed with reliance on Allah; if she does not feel comfortable, she is not sinful for rejecting him. The verse does not mean that a non-committed woman marries a non-committed man; rather, it is better for her to strive for a committed man. It is permissible, according to the majority of scholars, for a chaste woman or a sinful woman to marry a dissolute man, though this is considered less preferable.
