Is it permissible to waive the condition of the chastity of the Kitābīyah (People of the Book woman) when marrying her, due to the difficulty of fulfilling it?
Allah the Almighty has permitted marriage to Kitābī women (women from among the People of the Book) on the condition of chastity, as He Almighty says: "And [lawful in marriage are] the chaste from among those who were given the Scripture before you" (Quran 5:5). As for an unchaste woman (a prostitute), it is not guaranteed that she will not corrupt a man's bed. Murthid ibn Abī Murthid sought permission from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to marry an unchaste woman. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recited to him the verse from Surat An-Nur and said: "Do not marry her."
