Is a student sinful for not achieving academic excellence, which causes sadness to his/her parents?

Filial piety is one of the most emphasized and greatly rewarded duties by Allah, and it is the most beloved deed to Him after prayer performed on time. Allah's pleasure is linked to their pleasure, and His wrath is linked to their wrath. Therefore, the son must strive in his studies to please them and bring joy to them. If he exerts his utmost effort and is unable to achieve their desired outcome, then there is no blame upon him, for Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.
