How many gemstones are mentioned in the Qur’an, and what are the surahs in which they are mentioned, and do they have spiritual significance?

The Holy Qur'an guides creation to Allah for His unification and worship, and it is not a book of science. Therefore, a Muslim should not be distracted from the greatest purpose of its recitation by searching for secondary details. Some precious stones like ruby, pearl, and coral have been mentioned, as in His Almighty's saying: "As if they were rubies and coral" (Ar-Rahman / 58), and His saying: "From both of them come forth pearl and coral" (Ar-Rahman / 22), and His saying: "Like unto pearls well-preserved" (Al-Waqi'ah / 23), and His saying: "And there will circulate among them [heavenly] boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them scattered pearls" (Al-Insan / 19). These stones were mentioned to demonstrate Allah's blessings or for comparison, such as likening the houris (companions of Paradise) to rubies, coral, and well-preserved pearls for their purity and whiteness, and likening the boys to scattered pearls for their beauty.
