It is permissible to seek the assistance of one's wife in performing ablution (wudu) or ritual bath (ghusl (definition)) if it is for pouring water, and there is no dislike (karaha) in that. However, it is mildly disliked (makrooh tanzeehan) if it is for rubbing (dalik). Some scholars have held that it is not permissible to seek assistance without an excuse, except for an excuse in rubbing. The more cautious approach is to refrain from doing so, to avoid disagreement among scholars. Washing the limbs of ablution after the ritual bath is not obligatory; rather, the ghusl itself suffices for wudu. For someone afflicted with incontinence (sals), if they perform a valid ablution, it is permissible for them to wipe over their socks. What exits from them during ablution or after it, before putting on the socks, does not affect it. For the excused person, their purity is not nullified by their continuous impurity except by the expiration of the prayer time or by another impurity that is not their continuous one.
