Is it permissible for a woman to be infatuated with a married man whom she has not met, and is it valid for her to await him despite his not having set a date for that? What is the Shar'i ruling on this infatuation? And how can she deal with this matter that has affected her life and studies?

The relationship between a young man and a young woman reaching a state of deep love, even without them ever seeing each other, is not impossible. There is no sin upon a woman in whose heart Allah has placed the love of a man, so long as she keeps herself chaste and avoids forbidden acts with him; rather, she will be rewarded for it.

However, to cure this intense love, the girl should strive to do so. If marriage to this young man does not materialize, she should seek someone else and not turn away from marriage for his sake, as she might miss out on much good by doing so.
