The answer

Everything happens by Allah's wisdom and power, and there may be good in what Allah has chosen and decreed. There is no harm in seeking a child and striving for one through permissible means, and one should not despair. In-vitro fertilization (IVF) and test-tube babies are permissible if done according to Shariah guidelines. However, if it harms the wife or causes her hardship, she should not be forced into it. It is recommended for the wife to perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance) regarding this matter.
