Why is the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the best of humanity in terms of closeness to Allah, even though he is infallible and his companion (from jinn) embraced Islam, while the Companions and righteous people strive against their souls which incline to evil? Why wouldn't they be of a higher status?

The Messenger Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, is a human being whom God chose and favored above all other humans, and made him the Seal of the Messengers for a wisdom that He, the Exalted, knows. He creates what He wills and chooses whom He wills for His obedience. God favored our Prophet and made his message the final message, sent down upon him the best of His books, and protected him from error. Despite this favor, the Prophet worshipped his Lord with true devotion and endured the hardship of obedience. When asked about this, he said: "Should I not love to be a grateful servant!"
