Is it permissible for a teacher working at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to sign the attendance sheet on official holidays without being physically present at the workplace, based on the instructions of his manager, and is that considered a false testimony?

An employee must adhere to the attendance and departure system. If the employer requires the employee to be present to sign during a leave, the employee must comply and is not permitted to violate this rule. A manager is not allowed to authorize absence from attending and signing for several days all at once, unless he is authorized to do so by someone who has the authority to grant such permission. It is not permissible for an employee to sign on behalf of an absent colleague, as this constitutes forgery, which is describing something contrary to its true nature.
