The question

Are ghusl and prayer valid if there is a tiny bit of gum on the foot after ghusl from janabah? Do the thoughts that make a Muslim feel aversion and burden towards prayer, which come to him due to scrupulousness, invalidate the prayer? Is the worshiper’s feeling, when saying the takbir, that he is not pronouncing it as he should, such as: “Allah wa Akbar,” – while not paying attention to this feeling – valid?

The answer

Anything found on the body after performing ghusl, and it is probable that it adhered to it after ghusl, then there is nothing wrong with it, and its occurrence after ghusl is presumed. However, if its presence before ghusl is confirmed with certainty, then it must be removed, and only its location washed, without repeating the entire ghusl. Sequential performance (al-muwalah) is not a condition for this by the majority of scholars, and the prayers that were performed with that ghusl must be repeated. As for obsessive thoughts (waswas), one must disregard them and strive against them. They do not affect the prayer, and ignoring them is the correct approach.
