Is the unanswered prayer, the scarcity of provision, and the abundance of tribulations in the house related to one of the sons smoking drugs in the same house? And does this prevent angels from entering the house, knowing that all family members are religiously committed?

Disobedience of a brother, if he has been enjoined against evil to the best of one's ability, does not cause harm and does not prevent the supplication from being answered. This is based on the Almighty's saying: "And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another," and "O you who have believed, upon you is [the responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have erred will not harm you when you have been guided." There is no evidence that drugs prevent angels from entering.

The answering of supplication occurs in one of three ways: hastened in this life, stored for the Hereafter, or by averting an equivalent evil. A Muslim should examine himself for sins that might prevent the supplication from being answered and maintain a good opinion of Allah.
