Is seeking refuge in Allah from the evils of all creation, including the evils of one's wife, consequential, given the prophetic supplication: "O Allah, I ask You for her goodness and the goodness of her innate disposition, and I seek refuge in You from her evil and the evil of her innate disposition"? And are Quranic verses, supplications, and ذکر (remembrances of Allah) considered foreign expressions by which divorce does not occur, whether the husband intended it or not, according to the majority opinion?
We ask Allah to grant you healing from the whispers (waswas), and you must continue with supplications (du'a) and remembrance (dhikr). The divorce of a person afflicted with waswas who has lost control does not take effect. What you conveyed from the Shaykh is correct, but it has no bearing on your divorce, for seeking refuge from the evil of women and reciting the Qur'an and adhkar do not cause divorce to occur.
