How can one remove an affliction and attain God's pleasure after repenting from a severe wrongdoing that led to being afflicted with illness and losing one's job?

Whoever falls into injustice and sin must repent to Allah Almighty, regret what they have done, and seek absolution from those they have wronged. This is based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Whoever has wronged his brother concerning his honor or anything else, let him seek his forgiveness today before there is no dinar or dirham."

Repentance has four pillars: abandoning the sin, regretting having committed it, resolving never to return to it, and the fourth is specific to the rights of human beings, which is seeking their absolution. Know that the one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin. So strive to supplicate to Allah to remove the affliction from you.
