Is it permissible for one suffering from obsessive doubts (al-mosawwes) to adopt the view of a school of thought that does not consider the purity of the body, garment, and place a condition for the validity of prayer?

We have previously explained that purity from filth on one's clothes, body, and place of prayer is a condition for the validity of prayer according to the soundest opinions of the jurists. Some of them said it is a Sunnah, and some said it is obligatory but prayer is not invalidated by its omission. There is no harm for someone afflicted with obsessive doubts (waswasah) to follow the opinion that it is not a condition, in order to repel these doubts.
