Will the Mahdi disappear upon the advent of Jesus, peace be upon him, or will his rule remain?

Unseen matters, such as the state of the Mahdi when Jesus (peace be upon him) descends, can only be discussed with a religious text, and no text has been narrated that clarifies this. The mission of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was to bring glad tidings and warnings; therefore, the news of the end of times aims to urge the Muslim to hasten to righteous deeds and piety to avoid tribulations, and to strengthen the believers and remove despair from them. A Muslim should not excessively scrutinize the tribulations of the end of times and delve into the unseen that revelation has remained silent about, as this leads to wasting time and distraction from beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds.
