Will the one who repents from major sins be reunited with his wife in Paradise? And how will the meeting between spouses be if their ranks in Paradise are different?
If one who has committed a grave sin repents sincerely, Allah accepts his repentance, because "one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin," and repentance erases what came before it. It is also a grace from Allah Almighty upon His righteous servants and pious allies in Paradise that He will join their relatives—their children, parents, and spouses—with them if these relatives are in higher ranks in Paradise, as Allah Almighty said: "And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith—We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is pledged." [Al-Tur: 21].
