What are the limits of reliance on Allah concerning destiny and harm? Is it permissible to refuse assistance, entrusting the matter to Allah with patience? Is it permissible for a Muslim to sacrifice or endanger themselves for the sake of doing good or reviving Sunnahs, given the prohibition against throwing oneself into destruction?

One should not abandon means entirely, except for one whose heart has been completely detached from anticipating help from created beings. It is commendable to accept money if it comes without asking or internal yearning, provided it is lawful, while bearing in mind that asking is permissible only for three types of individuals: one who has undertaken a suretyship (diyah or financial guarantee), one who has been afflicted by dire need, or one who has suffered a calamity. Adhering to religion is not considered throwing oneself into destruction, even if it leads to harm. Preferring to endure harm on behalf of others is a virtue for one whose faith, patience, and reliance on Allah are strong.
