Is it permissible for a man to take libido-suppressing medications, even if they are harmful, to avoid falling into sin, whether he is traveling far from his wife, or residing with her and she is excused or unexcused but her psychological state does not allow for intimacy, given his inability to marry another woman for social and financial reasons?

The youth should primarily use the Prophetic remedies: marriage or fasting, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "And whoever is not able, then let him fast, for it will be a shield for him [from sexual urges]."

There is no harm in using medication to reduce lust if one fears falling into the forbidden, provided that it does not harm the body or the ability to procreate. However, if the medication has side effects, a trustworthy Muslim doctor should be consulted to assess the harm. If the harm is minor, it is permissible; if it is significant, then it is not permissible. And a Muslim must strive against his own desires and avoid environments that incite what is forbidden.
