The biographers and chroniclers of military expeditions, and Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim cited it, mentioned the story of the killing of Asma bint Marwan, who used to harm the Prophet (peace be upon him) and satirize Islam. Umayr ibn Adi al-Khatmi vowed to kill her if the Prophet returned from Badr. When he returned, he crept to her at night and killed her. The Prophet approved his action, saying: "No two goats will butt heads over her," and praised him: "If you wish to look at a man who has supported Allah and His Messenger in the unseen, then look at Umayr ibn Adi." Then Islam appeared among Banu Khatmah after this incident.
