What is the appropriate treatment for my condition, which is characterized by fear, obsessive thoughts, inability to concentrate, and anxiety when in gatherings, knowing that Seroxat did not suit me, and I refused treatment with amulets and incense?
The cure for fear, anxiety, lack of concentration, and bewilderment lies in relying on Allah, trusting Him, and depending on Him, knowing that all matters are in His Hands.
There are beneficial adhkar (remembrances) and ta'awwudhat (seeking refuge) for protecting oneself, such as saying: "I seek refuge in the perfect Words of Allah from His wrath and punishment, from the evil of His servants, and from the evil suggestions of the devils, and from their presence."
It is recommended to read Imam Al-Nawawi's book of Adhkar.
Allah has prescribed seeking medicine and searching for it, for every disease has a cure except old age. Medicines are either tangible or intangible through ruqyah (Islamic exorcism).
As for seeking treatment through charlatans and soothsayers, this is not permitted by Islamic law. One must repent to Allah for going to them and rely solely on Him for healing.
