What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a man marrying a woman who stole his brother's checks, and what is your guidance concerning the insistence of the wronged brother on divorce and his threat to sever ties, taking into account that the wife is pregnant and the husband refuses to divorce due to the fetus?

Theft is one of the major sins and indicates weakness of faith. Allah has ordained the cutting off of the hand for it. If theft is proven against the wife, she should be concealed, provided she is not defiant, and an attempt should be made to reform her by giving her a chance to repent. The conditions for repentance are: remorse, desisting from the sin, a firm resolve not to return to it, and returning the stolen item or seeking forgiveness. If she repents and becomes righteous, it is better not to divorce her. If she persists, then it is better to divorce her and seek a righteous wife. The elder brother has no right to demand the divorce of his brother's wife; he only has the right to demand his stolen due.
