Disobeying one's parents is one of the gravest sins after associating partners with Allah, and the supplication of parents against their child is answered. Therefore, one must repent to Allah for disobeying the mother and seek her forgiveness. It is also incumbent to advise the mother to be dutiful to her own mother, for the recompense of a deed is of its own kind, and dutifulness is a debt that is repaid swiftly.
