What are the reasons for the dislike of raising dogs in the home, and do they have health risks for humans?

The basic rule for raising dogs is prohibition, and it is not permissible to keep them except for hunting or guarding. A Muslim must comply with the Sharia command, for Allah only enjoins what is good and only forbids what is evil. Perhaps the wisdom behind the prohibition of raising dogs for purposes other than hunting or guarding is their severe impurity, or that they prevent angels from entering.
