Is the book "Kitab al-Masahif" by Ibn Abi Dawud recommended for reading, or is there some reservation concerning it?

The book "Al-Masahif" by its author Abdullah bin Sulayman bin Al-Ash'ath Al-Sijistani (Ibn Abi Dawud), who is a trustworthy Imam, accepted by the people of Hadith. The scholars have agreed upon his leadership (imamah), reliability (tawthiq), and the validity of using his narrations as proof (ihtijaj).

Ibn Abi Dawud compiled his book to gather narrations (athar) and reports (akhbar) related to the compilation of the Noble Qur'an into mus-hafs, and the efforts of the Companions and the Tabi'in in that regard, in addition to some rulings pertaining to the Book of Allah. He included narrations in it without distinguishing between the authentic (sahih) and the weak (da'if), in the manner of many Hadith scholars of his era. Therefore, whoever examines it needs knowledge to distinguish the authentic from the weak, or to refer to the verified editions that clarify this.
