Can the desire for zina be overcome and a righteous wife be found despite illness and incapacitation?
After congratulating the questioner on quitting alcohol, and supplicating for his healing and for a righteous wife for him.
The questioner must know that sins diminish faith and sustenance and bring calamities. Adultery is a grave major sin, and its punishment will be doubled on the Day of Judgment for those who did not repent, as mentioned in the Qur’an.
Allah has associated adultery with polytheism and killing a soul to illustrate its atrocity, and He has forbidden all paths leading to it, such as looking (at what is unlawful), being in seclusion (with a non-), and touching a non-mahram woman.
It is incumbent upon every rational person to sincerely repent before it is too late, for the door of repentance is open for those who have not reached the throes of death and before the sun rises from its west.
The questioner should increase in seeking forgiveness and performing righteous deeds, be patient in affliction to expiate sins, seek a righteous wife, fast, associate with righteous people, and distance himself from everything that incites lust.
