Where do surveillance cameras stand in proving a crime and applying the punishment in Sharia, and are they considered sufficient if four witnesses did not testify to the incident except through these tapes?

Adultery is proven by a four-time confession or by the testimony of four upright men who witnessed the act of adultery with their own eyes and describe it in precise detail. Adultery is not proven by video footage due to the possibility of manipulation and forgery, and Hudud (punishments) are averted by doubts. Although video footage is not sufficient for proof, the judge may punish (Ta'zeer) anyone whose presence with a non-mahram (definition) woman in a suspicious situation is revealed by cameras. Islamic law is strict regarding this crime, desiring concealment, and proving it by testimony is difficult. All Hudud that have been established were based on confession. Whoever cannot have the Hadd of adultery proven against them should seek Allah's concealment, and the judge may apply Ta'zeer against them commensurate with the accusation.
