Is it permissible to combine the Dhuhr and Asr prayers daily at 5:00 due to work circumstances that do not allow performing them at their prescribed times?

It is not permissible to delay the prayer beyond its prescribed time and combine it with another, except for an excuse such as a long journey. A resident must perform the prayer at its proper time, and it is not permissible to delay it without an excuse. Allah has warned those who delay the prayer beyond its time, saying: (So woe to those who pray [But] who are heedless of their prayer) [Al-Ma'un: 4-5]. Scholars have interpreted this to mean those who delay the prayer beyond its time. Whoever delays the prayer until its time expires without a permissible excuse is considered negligent. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, negligence is only for those who do not pray the prayer until the time for the next prayer comes."
