Is it permissible to recite the Holy Quran in the mosque while sitting on chairs around a table, especially if the reciters are elderly and suffer from illnesses and joint pain?

There is no objection to reciting the Qur’an while sitting on chairs in the mosque or elsewhere, for the elderly and others, in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: “Those who remember Allah while standing, and sitting, and on their sides, and contemplate the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], ‘Our Lord, You have not created this in vain; exalted are You [above imperfection], then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.’”
