What is the ruling on missing Friday Prayer for work, knowing that it is a day when provision abounds, and is it permissible to work for a day or part of a Friday and leave it for other days?

It is not permissible to abandon Friday prayer or to engage in buying and selling after its second call for those who reside in the city, due to the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, when [the adhan (definition)] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumuʿah, then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade." One may work before Friday prayer and close the shop during prayer time, then resume work afterward. Sustenance comes through obedience to Allah and Taqwa (definition) (God-consciousness), as the Almighty said: "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect."
