Will the one who lost his family in an accident be rewarded? Will Allah compensate him with something better? Does dying on a Friday save one from the torment of the grave? Is someone who dies in an accident considered a martyr? What should he do to come to terms with the matter? Do prayers in congregation reach them?
One must be patient and seek reward from God during a calamity, for God compensates the patient and grants them a great reward, as stated in the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah. The death of a Muslim on Friday or its eve is a sign of a good ending, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No Muslim dies on Friday or on the eve of Friday except that Allah protects him from the trial of the grave." The supplications and charities of the living reach the deceased, and they benefit from them by God's permission; the Ummah has unanimously agreed upon this.
