What is the ruling on traveling abroad with the intention of spreading good?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Traveling with the intention of spreading good and contemplating Allah's creation is permissible, based on the Almighty's saying: "Say, 'Travel through the land.'" Travel is subject to the five rulings of Islamic law, depending on its objectives and means. Thus, traveling for the purpose of inviting to Allah and conveying His religion is encouraged, as stated by the Almighty: "And let there be [arising] from among you a nation inviting to [all that is] good." The Prophet, peace be upon him, also traveled for dawah (inviting to Islam). Whoever follows this path with a sincere intention and in emulation of the Messenger will receive a great reward. Deeds are judged by intentions, and every action not commanded by Allah is rejected.
