Is one who travels for work included in the meaning of the noble verse: "And whoever emigrates in the cause of Allah will find on earth many [a place of] asylum and abundance. And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him—his reward has already fallen upon Allah. And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful"?

Emigration (Hijra) for the sake of Allah is the movement from a land of disbelief (Dar al-Kufr) to a land of Islam (Dar al-Islam) for the purpose of establishing the religion. This is what is meant in the noble verse for those who emigrate with their religion. This emigration must be with a sincere intention solely for Allah, and not for worldly matters, as stated in the Hadith, "Deeds are only by intentions." Traveling to seek livelihood does not fall under the concept of emigration for the sake of Allah intended in the verse, but it is a great good deed, as Allah Almighty has associated those who travel to seek livelihood with those who fight in His cause.
