How did Allah Almighty send His blessings upon His Prophet Ibrahim and how did He bless him and his nation in the Salat al-Ibrahimiyyah?

The Salah (prayer/blessings) of Allah upon Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him, signifies His mercy upon him, or His praise for him in the Highest Assembly. As for Barakah (blessing), it means the firmness, permanence, and growth of goodness. Ibn al-Qayyim, in "Jala' al-Afham," mentioned some aspects of the blessings upon the family of Ibrahim, including the bestowal of prophethood and scripture upon them, their status as imams (leaders) who guide by His command, Allah's choice of two close friends (khalilayn) from among them (Ibrahim and Muhammad), and His making Ibrahim an imam for all mankind, and the building of His House by his hands. Furthermore, Allah commanded His servants to invoke blessings upon them, and He brought forth from them the nations of Moses and Muhammad, and He preserved for them a tongue of truth, and He made them a criterion for distinguishing between people, and He linked their remembrance with His own remembrance. He also made the salvation of creation from misery dependent on their hands, and they receive the reward of those who strive. He closed off all paths between Himself and the worlds except through their path, and He endowed them with a knowledge not granted to others, and He granted them dominion in the earth, and He supported them, and He eradicated through them the traces of misguidance, and He planted love for them in hearts, and He made their legacy a reason for the world's continued existence.
