What is the legal standing of the questioner with her husband who does not pray, drinks alcohol, and forced her to drink it, and what is the ruling on the sins she committed because of him, and is it better for her to stay with him or to leave?

Indeed, intoxicants are the mother of all evils, and drinking them is one of the gravest sins. However, abandoning prayer is even more serious than that. Whoever abandons prayer, denying its obligation, leaves the fold of Islam without dispute. As for whoever abandons it out of laziness, many scholars consider him to have committed an act of disbelief. You must repent from your negligence in prayer and from drinking intoxicants. If your husband abandons prayer, denying its obligation, he is a disbeliever, and it is not permissible to remain with him. However, if he abandons it out of laziness, then you must advise him. If he does not repent, then you should promptly seek a divorce or khul', because your continued presence with him will be a detriment to your religion and your children.
