What is the ruling on remaining with a husband who drinks alcohol, blasphemes, neglects prayer, and dates girls? Will the children become like him? Is he a trial?

If a husband is negligent in prayer, consumes intoxicants, engages in illicit relationships, and curses Allah, then his cursing Allah while intoxicated does not, according to some scholars, expel him from the fold of Islam, and this is the more preponderant opinion. Abandoning prayer due to laziness is not considered major disbelief by the majority of scholars. It is permissible to remain with the husband, provided that one advises him, enjoins good upon him, forbids evil from him, seeks assistance from righteous people, and supplicates for him. If he does not repent, then it is preferable to separate from him through divorce or khul‘. The husband's falling into sins does not mean a punishment for the offspring, and tribulation may be a sign of Allah's love; nevertheless, the afflicted person should examine himself and renew his repentance.
