Is zakat obligatory on gold saved for children if its value reaches the nisab collectively, not individually, and is it permissible to give this zakat to the poor, indebted husband?

The fatwa we adopt is that zakat is not obligatory on gold designated for adornment and personal use, although paying it is more precautious.

However, if the gold is designated for savings, zakat becomes obligatory on it if it reaches the nisab (85 grams of pure gold) and a full year has passed. The amount of zakat is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%).

If the total amount of gold reaches the nisab, zakat becomes obligatory, even if it is of different purities, because gold is all one type.

The fact that the gold is saved for the children does not affect the ruling, as it is currently the woman's property.

It is permissible for the wife to pay her zakat to her indebted husband if he is unable to repay his debt.
