What are the causes and motives that drive the West and Orientalists to refute the authenticity of the Qur’an and Hadith, and what are the benefits they hope to gain from that?

Not all Westerners are hostile to Islam; there are fair-minded individuals who recognize its greatness. Orientalism, in most cases, aims to distort Islam, driven by religious motives (to denigrate Islam and tarnish its virtues), colonial motives (to weaken the Ummah and spread infirmity), commercial motives (to promote goods), and political motives (to create divisions among nations). There is a small and rare scientific motive, but those with this motive are closest to the truth, and some of them have embraced Islam. The objectives of Orientalism can be summarized as casting doubt on the authenticity of the prophetic message, Hadith (definition), Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), and the Arabic language, weakening Muslims' trust in their heritage, and inciting nationalist sentiments. On the other hand, a small category of orientalists have purely scientific objectives, seeking only research and scrutiny. These are the least dangerous, and some of them have embraced Islam.
