If the intent behind the wife's welcoming of her husband's guests is to sit with them, there is no evidence for the necessity of this. However, her honoring them is considered part of good companionship, while observing the Islamic guidelines if they are non-mahram men. Introversion and avoiding social interaction is a behavior that can be treated and acquired, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Knowledge is only acquired by learning, and forbearance is only acquired by striving to be forbearing.
