To what extent is it correct to call the month of Rajab "Al-Asabb" (the pouring one) due to the overflowing of sustenance and goodness within it?

Some scholars attributed the naming of the month of Rajab as "al-Asabb" (the pouring month) to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, interpreting it to mean that goodness pours forth and abounds in it. Al-Mawardi mentioned that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the best fasting after Ramadan and he replied, "The silent month of Allah" (شهر الله الأصم), and it was also narrated as "al-Asabb" (الْأَصَبّ). Abu Ubayd said that Rajab was named thus because Allah pours down mercy profusely in it. This narration has not been authenticated. Ibn Dihya al-Kalbi attributed this naming to the disbelievers of Mudar in the pre-Islamic era, as they used to say that mercy poured down in it profusely, and it was forbidden to agree with them. That is why the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "And Rajab of Mudar."
