Is it permissible for girls to go to schools to obtain education?
Education in this era is a fundamental necessity for both the individual and society, especially accredited education. This is permissible because anything proven to be beneficial, and for which there is no religious prohibition, is permissible. There is no distinction between male and female in this regard, due to the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "Indeed, women are the counterparts of men," and Allah Almighty's saying: (Recite in the name of your Lord who created, created man from a clinging substance. Recite, and your Lord is the Most Generous, who taught by the pen.) The girl must be keen to join schools free from mixing, while adhering to Islamic rulings, such as observing hijab, covering herself, and avoiding ostentation or perfume. Their guardians must strive to provide an educational environment free from religious transgressions.
