What is the ruling regarding a married woman who was raped and did not inform her husband, knowing that she is pregnant and that her husband is infertile? And how can she determine if the pregnancy is from him or not, considering that her husband had intercourse with her on the same day as the rape?

This pregnancy is attributed to the husband, and there is no need to verify it, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The child is for the bed, and for the fornicator is the stone."

The woman should conceal herself and not inform anyone, including her husband. Some scholars have held that waiting for purification (istibra’) is not obligatory and that it is permissible for the husband to have intercourse with his wife who committed adultery.

Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen said: "It is appropriate for a person, if he knows that his wife, Allah forbid, committed adultery and then repented, to have intercourse with her immediately, so that no doubt remains in his heart in the future as to whether she became pregnant from the adulterous act or not. If he has intercourse with her immediately, the child will be attributed to the husband and not to the fornicator." As for the adulteress who has no husband, she must wait for purification with one menstrual cycle, according to the preponderant opinion.
