Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ever pray without a turban, and if so, how many times?
The jurists agreed on the desirability for a man to cover his head during prayer with a turban or its equivalent. The Hanafis explicitly stated that it is disliked for a man to pray bareheaded if it is due to laziness in abandoning dignity, and not for the purpose of humility and supplication. There is no authentic hadith or narration that proves the Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed bareheaded, and the hadith narrated from Ibn Abbas concerning this is very weak.
