Is the mother's custom of circulating a coin around a newborn, which is believed to protect its life and is called "al-qati'ah," permissible in Islamic law?

This custom is not from the Sharia (definition), and it contradicts Tawhid (definition) (monotheism) if the one who performs it believes that it benefits by itself. It is minor shirk (definition) if one believes it is a means of salvation from death. Lifespans are in the hand of Allah, and every child's lifespan is written in their mother's womb. What is prescribed concerning children is the 'Aqiqah (definition), giving charity in silver equal to the weight of their hair, and protecting them with the authentic supplications and invocations.
