How can one overcome hesitation, fear of making decisions, depression, magnifying things, difficulty speaking in front of people, perpetual silence, and occasionally feeling burdensome?
Anyone who hesitates and fears making decisions should consult experts, seek guidance from Allah (istikharah), and then proceed with their decision. What you are complaining about—depression and exaggerating matters—is easier than you imagine, so do not magnify things out of proportion. Do not be afraid or hesitant to speak with your family and friends; they love you and do not look for your faults. As for silence, it is commendable when it pertains to forbidden acts like backbiting and slander, but one should not remain silent about speaking the truth, enjoining good, and forbidding evil. You should turn to Allah so that your heart may be expanded and your tongue freed, for "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent." Virtues can be acquired through practice.
