What is the advice and guidance for one who suffers from a lack of khushu' (devotional humility), delaying prayer, and repeatedly committing sins after repentance, and is seeking that which will strengthen her heart and restore her relationship with her Lord?

Humility (khushu') in prayer is its essence and spirit. It can be attained by contemplating the greatness of God, reflecting on the meanings of the Qur'an and the adhkar (remembrances), choosing a quiet place for prayer, and seeking help from and supplicating to Almighty God, in fulfillment of His saying: "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good." As for forgetting a prayer or sleeping through it, there is no sin in that. The Muslim's duty then is to pray it when he remembers it or wakes up. One can use an alarm clock for this purpose.
